All the results from the weekend

Ladies 1s drew 0-0 against a strong rovers side who will no doubt be looking for promotion so a great point. 7 points after 6 games and only 5 behind the top. Crucial game v Omagh in the IHT next week. So far so good and each week the team is learning what it takes so keep it up.
Ladies 2s had a trip to mullingar and got an important 3 points. Thanks to ed for helping ste and running the bench straight off a quantas and rob Fitz for umpiring. I heard ailbhe scored a stonker of a goal and Niamh odonnell also on the score sheet. This 2s team are not a division 8 team and they are on the way to showing that and need to keep pushing on and win this league and keep improving.
Mens 1s had a tricky tie against an unbeaten clontarf side after a loss to Corinthians on Tuesday night 3-1 (still can't understand how they did as they dominated the ball for 80 percent of that game ) but clontarf came out of the blocks early and really threatened the YM back line on many occasions but they were thwarted by a good defensive performance and of course walks!!
YM took over in the second half and scored two goals very quickly early in the half with Tobs and Eric with his first goal for the 1s and Jonesey got the 3rd in a lovely flowing team move.
YMers or even hockey lovers get down and watch this YM side. It's the most entertaining , fast moving attacking hockey I've ever seen in this club and Jason has them playing his way. You will not be disappointed with the 70 minutes. So the 3-1 win leaves them on 15 points with a very good tarf side and nearly assured of the top 5 for the next phase
The men's 3s carried on with their 7th win in the league and remained undefeated. Few scares and maybe not our best performance but still much better than the opposition on the day. Man of the match Charlie with a hat trick and Pete Thompson with a stroke to complete a 4-1 win
Men's 4s kept up their unbeaten start in the league and turned those draws we were talking about into a win by smoking clontarf 5-2. Rupert kept his whistle in his pocket and grabbed 2 goals , max scored again and Kyle and Cian scored 2 great goals. This puts Graham's team joint second and only 3 points off top
5ths had another disappointing day not with just the trip to North Kildare but they went down 6-1 , a day to be forgotten. Didn't get the goal scorer for the Y.
That's it for tonight, Heineken in hand so all good with 4 wins and one draw this weekend.
Dinner next week and still seats left but not many. Sitting down to eat at 8 so want everyone there for 7.30 suited and booted for one of the great nights in the calendar.
