L2s lose out in the late fixture
By YMCA HC Committee
L2s couldn't come back from 3-0 deficit
YM started the game with great energy. The solid pairing of Flanno and Louise in centre back laid the foundations for a skill full Rachel to create havok in the centre of the pitch. Louise's long balls through were picked up by the forwards with emers pace and Niamh's skill causing trouble for the three rock defence. Some great chances were created but to no avail. A hit and hope ball was unfortunately deflected into the goal and three rock were 1up against the run of play. Laura at right back gave some great cross field balls with the ever versatile Kari impacting the game from defence mid field and up front. The second half started brightly with some great stick work by Ailbhe opening up the three rock defence and some great interplay with Niamh and Rachel. A through ball was converted nicely by three rock but Louise made no mistake the next time with a brilliant double save which set up a counter attack where Shauna won a Corner and Flanno converted flawlessly. YM were just getting going when the full time whistle went. A few chances were missed and some lessons were learned but it was a great team effort where no one gave up until the final whistle which was evident by the goal scored in the 70th minute.
