L1s take down top of the table Three Rock

Alanna picked up the only goal in the win
A report on Saturdays match begins in the changing room, Waz fresh from leading party on the “party tram” the previous night, decided that this was the match to introduce a grand tactical plan, there was much moving around of cones on the changing room floor, and at times it was clear Waz had confused himself, this team talk ended with what can be best described as an American style huddle which again was an interesting departure, perhaps a tactic Waz had picked up on said party tram.
Our match was significantly delayed by a nasty injury to Rupert (all the best Rupert on a speedy recovery) and apart from this being a nasty injury it also left us short a ref. (Thank you Mark Walker for stepping in at the very last minute). Three Rock were the opposition, top of the league, talk of South African Internationals on their side.... However we started stronger than in recent matches, and our new tactics seemed to be paying off. As the half went on we continued to dominate and much of the match was spent in the Three Rock half. The match changed when Emily picked up the ball just after the half way; and with a magic run skipped past her marker and a number of other defenders and got a shot away from the top of the circle, it hit the far post as the keeper had gone down; Ahhlanna was on hand to pick up the deflection and roof it high into the net.
Three Rock continued to try and pierce our defence, to no avail and at half time we regrouped, the second half continued as the first had left off with much of the match being played between the two 22s. There were some superb performances from Lynn & Coups, however MOM Emily Bradshaw deserves the accolade of making her South African opposition look very ordinary and being the outstanding player on the pitch.
