M1s Neville Cup run comes to an end
No St. Stephen's Day final this year
After the very important win against Three Rock Rovers on Saturday YMCA had to play Corinthians in the semi-final of the Neville cup the next day. Thanks to the mental session before they started well into the game and created some promising chances. Although they were the dominating team, Corinthians were first able to score at the 27th minute when one of their strikers had entered the D from a long corner and scooped the ball into the goal. Even though the team of Jason Klingradt got back into the zone and played on with new self- confidence in the second half. Willing to force the game turning into draw they got very close to score by corner when suddenly an opponent counterattack led to the second goal for Corinthians at the 56th minute. Trying to change the game YMCA stepped up pressure on the opposite goal. But in the end they weren't successful and had been beaten 0:2. Although they had been knocked out of the cup they can really look forward to the second half of the season keeping in mind that they are on a good way to qualify for the IHL in the following year.
