YMCA Newsletter 25/03/2011

Fri 25th Mar 2011

Some mixed news to report this week for our top teams. The men bowed out of their first season in the IHL, beaten 4-2 away to Banbridge and unfortunately lost ground in the race for the Leinster League title, going down 2-0 at Monkstown.

They have a great opportunity however to put a dent in Glenanne's advantage at the top (albeit only ahead of us on goal difference) when they travel to St Mark's to take on the league leaders. The boys could do with every bit of support possible so if you can make to Tallaght for 3pm, they would very much appreciate it.

On to much better news, the Ladies 1st XI have done it again, securing yet another league title, this time winning Division 5 at the first attempt with a couple of games still to play in the season. Warm congratulations to all involved - obviously this year has been their sternest test to date and they have come through with flying colours. Well done on bringing home more silverware to show off at the annual dinner.

The Ladies 2nds also had a successful weekend by winning their games last Saturday and Sunday and find themselves in second place in the league on goal difference with two games to play. They are two home fixtures against the bottom 2 and two victories should see them secure promotion.

Don't forget the Cocktail Night/Dinner next Saturday, the 2nd, in Koh restaurant. Some places are still available, please contact Laura Fitzgerald to book your spot. Only 40 for a 3 course meal, with a late bar and DJ to boot, couldn't beat it with a stick!

We have a fairly full list of fixtures this w/e. Best of luck to all teams.
