I hope the heads aren’t too sore this morning following yesterday’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations!
Firstly, congratulations to the Mens 1st Xl, who recorded a great win against Instonians last Saturday in Old Alex in the IHL. They narrowly missed out on picking up a bonus point with the final score being 4-2. Thank you to all those who came down to support them.
Trevor’s men travel to Banbridge tomorrow in their final game of the IHL group stages. A win or draw should secure a place in the IHL semi-finals. Good luck to Iain and the squad travelling up tomorrow.
The Mens 2nd Xl were again fixtureless last weekend and will not return to league action until 26th March.
The Mens 3rd Xl faired well with a 3-0 win against Monkstown. The team are now just four points away from safety with a crucial bottom of the table clash with North Kildare at 1.15pm tomorrow. Let’s hope they can pick up their fourth successive win in a row.
The Mens 4th Xl were also victorious running out 3-2 winners against Monkstown too. They sit this weekend out before returning to league action the following weekend.
The Mens 6th Xl unfortunately came second again on Saturday! A 3-1 loss being the outcome, despite borrowing some of the opposition.
The Ladies 1st Xl breathed their dragon fire again on Saturday with a convincing 3-0 win over TRR. They take on Muckross in Claremount Road at 12.15pm tomorrow and will be hoping to maintain their 6 point lead at the top of Division 5.
Congratulations to the Ladies 2nd Xl, who under the captaincy of Kate James secured a place in the Division 11/12 Cup final on 10th April. A brilliant 1-0 win over Hermes sets them up for a tough match against Navan.
The girls have a double header this weekend. An early start Saturday morning sees them away to Botanic and then they travel to Newbridge on Sunday for a 3pm start. A vital 6 points are up for grabs this weekend as they sit joint second in Division 12 and look for promotion.
On the social front, Julian Hinds was our fourth Lotto winner on Saturday night in The Dropping Well. Iain and Andrew Walker concluded the entertainment for the evening by being waxed! Thank you to all those who donated much needed funds for the Club at the expense of the boys!
The next date for your diary is Saturday 2nd April in KOH Restaurant. Tickets are still available at €40 and can be purchased from Laura Fitzgerald, any committee member or captains.
Good Luck to everyone involved in matches this weekend!
