Welcome to the YMCA Hockey Club Website

Tue 8th Mar 2011

Hi all,

Firstly a big thanks to Andrew Elliot and Jakim Bernsden who gave their time to help out at the colts tournament last Sunday in Claremont Road. Thanks also to Donal Burns from our Under 16s who helped out as well. Your help was massively appreciated and the day wouldn't have been such a success without your input.

This coming Sunday (Mar 13th) the Colts are hosting an Under 14 tournament in Claremont Road from 12 - 4. We need FOUR people to help out with its running. Without people stepping up and volunteering the club simply cannot survive so I urge the people who have yet to do so this season to please rectify this as soon as possible.

Again please contact Peter Chadwick on 0862565899 - he will also need volunteers for tournaments on the following two Sundays so please help out at least once!

As you should all know by now our Mens 1sts are playing Instonians in their final home game of the Irish Hockey League this coming Saturday in Alex School at 3pm. The lads would really appreciate all support we can give them on the day as this really is a must win game for them. So please don your black and red and make it down to Alex. There will be finger food in the Dropping Well for all supporters after the match and we will also be doing the draw for our monthly lotto so it should be a great evening.

Please note that we will be charging a gate of 5 for entry to this match - all funds to go towards the running of YOUR club.

In terms of last weeks results - congrats to the Mens 1sts, 3rds and 4ths and the Ladies 2nds who all secured very important wins. The Ladies 1sts were unfortunately unsuccessful in their trip to Limerick for the IHC Semi Finals - and will have to be content to play for the Div 5 league title which is still firmly within reach. Onwards and upwards!

Good luck to all playing this weekend and I hope to see as many of you as possible on Saturday in Milltown.
