Hard luck to the Mens 1sts who were unlucky in their Irish Hockey League match against Pembroke last weekend. The lads dominated large portions of the game with a cracking short corner goal from 'uncle' Johnny Bruton in the first quarter. Andy Walker followed that with yet another great goal from him this season. Unfortunately Pembroke ultimately won out in the fourth quarter. The lads will be hoping for a better result this coming tuesday evening as they play Pembroke in the league.

Elsewhere in the club last weekend saw wins for the mens 3rds, 4ths and 5ths - very well done to all involved - keep up the great work!

This saturday sees the Mens 1sts starting off their Irish Senior Cup campaign at home in Alex against North Down at 1.15. Again all support for the game is welcomed - and drinks will be had following the game in the Dropping Well.

The Ladies 1sts also start off their cup campaign on saturday against Loreto 3rds - following a draw last saturday the girls will be hoping to get back to their winning ways.

As a reminder the YM dinner is next thursday in the Bank below The Dropping Well - please let your team captain or Amy Armstrong (amy.armstrong@lhw.e) know if you would like to reserve a place - tickets are 50 if paid in advance or 55 on the night.

Finally, a former YM player Conor Doyle has just completed a gruelling cycle around the entire coast of Ireland in aid of Cystic Fibrosis - check out his blog here and please support the cause if you can.

Good luck to one and all playing this weekend and see you all next Thursday where myself and Vinno will be welcoming shouts of 'STAND UP'for most of the evening!
